Abstract

Here on special appearance from my books, the abstracts that leaked out this summer.

Present!

I am ready to share what I've been brewing up in my sketch books now! I have been through the harrowing processes of sifting ideas. In the end I have decided to go with what I am most interested in, in a medium I enjoy.

Previously I was planning to explore the implications of birth, death, and rebirth. Although the subject is still deeply relevant and interesting, I have come over the last year to more earthly interests of cooking and eating. Perhaps themes of life and death will come through, but what I intend to explore is the pleasure of food. A sensory exploration of eating. An adventure.

For inspiration I thoroughly enjoy the animation in When The Day Breaks by Wendy Tilby. Specifically I like the combination of old live action footage with 2d animation, and the painted feel I get from the film in general.

I can't promise when I'll get my scans up, but I'll give it a try.

ABSENT!

Hmmm. I haven't been posting on my project blog. It's getting close enough to the recommencation of the school year now. I wake up several times a week short of breath fearing what's to come. Don't feel sorry for me. It was my decision to get a degree.

Yes, I have been scribbling in my journals, and on large papers with designs and ideas. I'm not confident in any of it. Maybe a cavalcade of scans here can fix that.
